Camp.

I've been at Lake Beauty Bible Camp for almost a month now, it's probably a good time to reflect. The first few days here were interesting - maybe awkward is a better word? It was hard to get to know the returning staff during the first week, and I'm sure it was hard for them to get to know us. On the 5th day, we hiked out to a campsite with packs and tents and set up for the night. We were given three hours of solitude with God which, despite the bugs, was amazing. No ipods, cell phones, or even books. When does that ever happen? That night was a blast, we made hobo dinners, banana boats, and sang by the fire. Not to mention the beautiful starry sky. My tentmates were great spooners - essential for camping. We woke up at 5am to pouring rain and had to grab all of our stuff and run back to camp - good times. I made it through Staff Training WITHOUT Mountain Dew - can you believe that? I'm finally kicking the withdrawals, 3 weeks later. Our first week of campers was Senior High - 9th and 10th graders. I've never had so much fun in my life. From crazy dancing in Chapel to swimming through a swamp to hide from campers in a nightgame, it was a blast. I've been making some amazing friends here, God has blessed me so much. Our second week wasn't quite as hyped, but it was a ton of fun nonetheless. This past Friday a few girls and I trekked into LF to make a Walmart run and ended up crashing at my house and having girl talk for hours. Saturday we started the day out right - Pete and Joy's bakery, yum. We tie-dyed some shirts and came back for the famous LF Dam Festival -it was a DAM good time. Sorry, I had to do that. We had Charlie's pizza for dinner and it was amazing, dang I miss that stuff. We ended the night with fireworks and a street dance. We left about midnight and I was soaked with beer (ha, not mine). I slept in today and now I'm preparing for 250 4th graders this afternoon -- WOOP WOOP! Well I'm off to take a shower, those don't happen very often for counselors. Peace out.
